PETA is urging Ben & Jerry’s to use the ingredient

Heather Mills is said to be backing a campaign to get ice cream manufacturers to use human breast milk.

The ex-model is apparently supporting PETA in its bid to get Ben & Jerry’s to include it in their products instead of cows’ milk.

‘Heather is just 1 of the 2 million supporters of this idea,’ a source tells the Daily Star.

‘She’s a big supporter of Dr Benjamin Spock, America’s leading authority on child care, who says cows’ milk may play a role in anaemia, allergies, juvenile diabetes, obesity and heart disease.’

Last year, Heather, 40, sparked controversy when she urged the public to drink rats’ milk.

Tracy Reiman, PETA executive vice president, says: ‘PETA’s request comes after reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting it for 75 per cent of the cows’ milk in the food that he serves.

‘The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn’t make sense.’
