The singer isn't afraid to get naked
Miley Cyrus has revealed that her raunchy MTV VMAs performance would have been even more explicit if she’d had her way.
The controversial singer wanted to appear topless for her now infamous set, where she stripped to nude latex underwear and twerked against Robin Thicke.
Miley makes the shock revelation in MTV documentary Miley: The Movement, where she’s seen discussing her preparations for the show with Britney Spears.
Britney, 31, asks the former Disney starlet: You’re not going to be topless on stage are you?’
I tried, but I don’t think MTV‘s going to allow it,’ says Miley, 20.
She also quips: Everyone takes the VMAs so seriously, I just want to come out and shoot a hot dog gun. I just want to have fun!’
Miley’s obviously not afraid to get naked, having stripped off completely in the video for latest single Wrecking Ball, though she insists that she’s not out to create a ‘sex show’.
Speaking about the VMAs performance, where she started the set in a playsuit with a bear’s face on it, Miley says: Yes, I am very comfortable with sexuality and I like pushing the boundaries but I’m coming out in pigtails looking like a giant adult baby but doing really, like, naughty stuff.
That’s obviously funny. If I really wanted to do a raunchy sex show I wouldn’t have been dressed like a damned bear.
People can think that it was just like a hot mess, but it’s a strategic hot mess.’
Miley: The Movement airs on MTV tonight at 8pm.
