1D star to be honoured
Niall Horan‘s home town is planning to pay tribute to him by opening a museum in his honour.
The One Direction star, 20, has given permission for the local council in Mullingar, Ireland to set up an exhibition all about him that fans could visit.
Of course we want to honour one of our leading lights,’ says councillor Aidan Davitt.
Niall is always promoting Mullingar around the world and has said it’s something he would support, as did his mother Maura.
Fans come here every day looking for Niall’s house – they also go to Tesco looking for his dad Bobby – so it would be great to have somewhere for them to go.’
A building has already been found for the proposed exhibit and the motion was seconded at a recent council meeting.
The museum – which could open as soon as next summer – will also feature other musicians from the area but there’s no doubting who the main attraction will be.
Niall would be the star of the show as our most famous son,’ Mr Davitt tells The Sun.
We would love to get some of his items to display there for fans, as well as interactive footage of his performances around the town.’
Niall recently spoke of his joy at returning to his beloved home town for a break after 1D’s mammoth 134-date Take Me Home tour came to an end.
