Benedict Cumberbatch is hot. Benedict Cumberbatch soaking wet is even HOTTER

Yes! The moment every Cumberbitch has been praying for has arrived.

Benedict Cumberbatch is the latest star to be nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge and we cannot freakin’ wait. Finally!

Forget the Biebers, the Timberlakes and the Zuckerbergs – this, ladies and gentlemen, is what we’ve all been waiting for.

Benedict will have to pour an ice-cold bucket of water all over himself – cue hot bod, wet t-shirt and dripping hair. Swoon.

Anywho, back to Benedict. We’ve got Avengers star, Tom Hiddleston, to thank for this absolutely fantastic turn of events.

He’s said before that the Sherlock star is his best friend after the pair starred together in Steven Spielberg’s 2010 war epic War Horse.

The 33-year-old nominated Benedict after taking part in the challenge himself.

Tom set the bar high though – instead of posting your bog-standard Ice Bucket video, he released the slow-mo version. Ahhhh what a treat for the eyes.

Are you sitting there scratching your head? Confused? Not sure what this Ice Bucket Challenge is all about?

It’s the social media craze which has taken the Internet by storm.

It basically involves a celebrity dumping a bucket of icy water over themselves in a bid to raise money and awareness for neurodegenerative illness, ALS, otherwise known as Motor Neurone Disease.

Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pratt, Britney Spears, Robert Downey Jr, Gwen Stefani, Rita Ora – basically anyone who’s anyone is taking part.

It might sound bizarre but it’s definitely working – this crazy obsession has so far raised a record £9 million for the ALS Association.

The seriously gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch has only got 24 hours to step up to the challenge. We’ll be waiting…. #nopressure
