Fans are in a flutter ahead of the awards on Wednesday night…

It’s the biggest night in the calendar for UK artists and it looks like the Brit Awards 2017 could also be huge for fans.

Eagle-eyed Directioners noticed all of the boys have flown back to London just in time for the show – and it’s thought Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson are planning something special.

If the boys do attend it’ll be their first time walking the Brits red carpet as a foursome, following Zayn Malik’s departure from the band in 2015.

‘All the boys are in London,’ one excited fan tweeted. ‘I’m so ready for them to slay the red carpet!!!’

Another said: ‘Call me delusional but I truly believe that the boys are going to reunite at the Brits.’

‘Plot twist,’ one Directioner speculated. ‘The boys are performing at the Brits. Now that would be a great comeback.’

But even some of the boys’ most devoted followers were hesitant in getting their hopes up, with a tweeter writing: ‘I’m not sure I wanna see the boys at the Brits, unless they actually attend together and announce a new 1D tour…’

The 1D lads are nominated for Best British Video again this year (for History) and are up against huge acts including Little Mix. It’s one of only two awards voted for by the public, so we’re sure Directioners will make their mark on the outcome! Head here for all the info on how to vote, plus what time it all kicks off, how to watch it live and more.

We wouldn’t bet against the either, as historically the band have always enjoyed huge success at the awards. Their debut, What Makes You Beautiful, won Best British Single in 2012; in 2013 they were awarded with the specially created Global Success gong.

In 2014 they walked away with two awards: British Video and Global Success. Despite not attending the following year, Harry, Liam, Niall and Louis received the Best British Video gong for You & I. And last year – with only Liam and Louis in attendance – 1D won Best British Video again, this time for Drag Me Down.

So will the boys finally end their hiatus and give the fans what they want? Tune in to find out!
