Katie Price says there's no excuse

Katie Price is horrified by the number of child abuse cases in the newspapers.

‘Sadly, over the past couple of months, it’s been difficult not to notice coverage related to child abuse,’ says Now’s columnist, 36.

‘The recent headlines surrounding a claimed government cover-up and missing documents is just another sorry news story.

‘Why it happens, I have no idea. There’s no excuse for the abuser and there’s certainly no excuse for those who are aware of such dealings and don’t come forward or speak out.

‘I 100 per cent agree with NSPCC chief Peter Wanless. He says people who cover up such crimes should also be prosecuted and there should be a duty on institutions like hospitals, children’s homes and boarding schools to report abuse and the laws should change to facilitate this.’
