This telly favourite's going from sitting on the sofa to cooking up a treat
Several of our favourite Gogglebox faces have found huge success away from the sofa recently – step forward, Scarlett Moffatt – and now another star is branching out on a different reality show.
Yep, Reverend Kate Bottley has signed up for the new series of Celebrity MasterChef, meaning she’ll be swapping hanging out on the sofa for the much more fast-paced pressures of the kitchen.
‘Kate is very excited for MasterChef and hopes this will properly launch her career,’ a source says.
‘She has already started filming and is having a real blast.’
Ooh, how exciting! it comes after Kate started to embark on other TV projects away from Gogglebox, having presented a documentary on Judas last year and also made an appearance on Celebrity Mastermind.
The vicar is being represented by the same agency who manage big name stars including Mary Berry, Claudia Winkleman and Rachel Riley, so the future for her telly career certainly looks promising.
‘The documentary was a great way to launch her career,’ the insider tells The Sun. ‘But MasterChef will truly cement her in the public sphere.’
It’s not the only project she’s got coming up – next week she’ll be seen taking part in BBC Two show Alone With The In-Laws, where she advises a soon-to-be-married couple to live alone with their partner’s parents before tying the knot to understand what to expect.
Kate found fame on Gogglebox alongside her husband Graham and their dog Buster, though recently took a break from the series to support their daughter through her GCSEs.
Let’s hope that all that time spent critiquing TV shows will help Kate to impress MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode when the show hits our screens this summer!
The mum-of-two will be amongst 20 stars taking part, with her fellow competitors including S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens.
So will Kate follow in fellow Goggleboxer Scarlett’s footsteps after Ms Moffatt’s I’m A Celebrity win and emerge victorious? We can’t wait to find out!
