Kym Marsh and Stephanie Waring both defiantly attend awards bash
It’s one of the biggest nights in the soap calendar and there was NO WAY Coronation Street star Kym Marsh or Hollyoaks‘ Stephanie Waring were going to let a small feud stop them from enjoying their big night.
Both Kym and Stephanie attended the British Soap Awards last night, despite rumours they have had a bitter falling out. And neither opted to leave early with both going on to the afterparty at Manchester’s The Palace Hotel.
The former friends are said to be at war after Kym started dating Steph’s ex boyfriend Dan Hooper – and the father of her four-year-old child – a few months after they split last year. Tension heightened last week when Kym and fiance Dan decided to call off their wedding after sources said Stephanie was ‘meddling’ in their relationship.
Stephanie was one of the first to arrive at the bash in Manchester last night and was quick to shoot down any accusations that Kym and Dan’s decision to take a break in their relationship was anything to do with her.
Wearing a plunging silver Nadine Merabi dress, the 36-year-old told The Sun: ‘I just speak to Dan about [our daughter] Lexi and that’s it. I’ve got no idea how I got involved in this. I’m really looking forward to tonight and I’ll be at the after-party.’
And in a defiant dig at her ‘love rival’, when asked if she would let her fight with the Corrie star ruin her night she said: ‘Hell no!’
Kym, who attended the bash with her 18-year-old daughter Emilie, managed to avoid Stephanie all night. She sat with her Coronation Street colleagues during the ceremony – just a a few rows away from Stephanie and her Hollyoaks pals – and then chatted to friends on the other side of the room at the after party. It’s believed she left early.
Earlier in the night Kym, who plays Michelle Connor, said: ‘We’re going to the after-party for a bit but then I’m going home.’
The Corrie actress was noticeably still wearing her engagement ring as she walked the red carpet with sources saying her and Dan are still hoping to make their relationship work.
Dan Tweeted last week: ‘Nothing’s broken off. We are having space and a break.’
