DJs got intimate medical details pretending to be the Queen
The hospital where Kate Middleton, 30, is recovering from acute morning sickness has launched an investigation into how two Australian radio DJs managed to con private information out of a nurse.
The 2Day FM DJs pretended to be the Queen as a prank, and got intimate medical details about the Duchess‘s condition from a nurse.
Now the King Edward VII Hospital is trying to find out how the Aussies, complete with bad English accents, managed to fool staff.
They were told about Kate’s condition, and that they could visit her after 9am.
A radio spokesman later apologised for the ‘inconvenience’ of the call.
But chief executive of the hospital John Lofthouse said: ‘This was a foolish prank call that we all deplore.
‘We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously and we are now reviewing our telephone protocol.’
