Heiress released without bail
Paris Hilton was allegedly in possession of cocaine when police stopped the car she was travelling in at the weekend in Las Vegas.
But the socialite, 29 – who was arrested but released without bail – says the drug which was allegedly found in her handbag was not hers.
‘This matter will be dealt with in the courts, not in the media, and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law,’ says Paris‘s lawyer David Chesnoff in a statement.
Earlier this summer, Paris was questioned by South African police at the World Cup for allegedly smoking marijuana and later held by police in Corsica after being allegedly caught with a small amount of pot in her purse.
She was released without being charged on both occasions.
After the incident in Corsica, Paris took to Twitter to explain what had been going on.
‘Just to put an end to these rumours,’ she wrote.
‘The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false! I am having the best vacation of my life…
‘Now let’s move on. Everyone focus and enjoy their own summer time!’
