Despite being in the competition five years ago, this time was the most nerve-wracking for Perrie…
She competed on the show five years ago but Perrie Edwards has admitted she was more nervous about performing during The X Factor 2016 final.
Little Mix have sold 12 million records, scored four number ones and have around a billion views on Vevo, but 23-year-old Perrie’s nerves were worse than ever when they returned to show that made them famous this year.
Following their amazing show, it was revealed Perrie’s rumoured new beau Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was supporting her in the audience – so was he the reason behind her stage jitters?
Perrie and her band mates are currently promoting new album Glory Days in New York City and, during one interview, they were asked about their feelings ahead of The X Factor last weekend.
‘I’ve never felt nerves like that in my life, ever,’ Perrie confessed. This caused Jesy Nelson to shoot her a very telling look, and Perrie replied: ‘Oh, shut up!’
Clearly enjoying making her friend squirm, Jesy couldn’t contain her giggles and Perrie responded by cheekily poking her tongue out.
Interesting. Perrie and Arsenal footballer Alex, also 23, were first linked when she was spotted at the Emirate’s Stadium at the beginning of November, with reports claiming she watched the match from a box with his family.
Then, after Glory Days went to number one, Alex joined Perrie to celebrate at Drama Park Lane. He left the exclusive club via a back entrance, while Perrie covered her face as she braved the paparazzi out front.
When it comes to relationships, it hasn’t been the easiest 18-months for Perrie. In August last year, former One Direction singer Zayn Malik ended their three-year relationship with a text message.
Earlier this year Perrie enjoyed a brief romance with actor Luke Pasqualino, but things between them quickly fizzled out.
Now, with fans insisting she and Alex have the potential to become the next Victoria and David Beckham, let’s hope Perrie’s finally found some happiness…
