Kate Moss's ex says he 'still loves' the troubled singer who died in 2011

Pete Doherty has sensationally admitted he once enjoyed a romance with Amy Winehouse.

Pete, now 33 and living in Paris, says: ‘It’s true. Amy and I were lovers. I loved her then and, well, I still do today.

‘But towards the end, as only lovers can, she became quite mean and cruel to me. She didn’t suffer fools… and believe me, she had a mean right hook.’

He tells the Daily Mail they first got together after Amy visited Pete at his London hotel after a gig in August 2010.

Pete, who once dated Kate Moss, says Amy‘s consumption of crack cocaine ‘would drive anyone to the brink of madness.’

‘She had such a big heart but she was physically small and increasingly frail and I never once saw her eat anything solid, just milkshakes,’ he remembers.

Amy died in July 2011 from alcohol intoxication.
