Actor unable to recall Emmy award winning show

Peter Falk‘s dementia means he no longer remembers his famous character Columbo.

The actor, 81, won four Emmys for the show, but cannot recall starring in it.

His doctor made the admission during a trial at Los Angeles Superior Court

The actor’s daughter Catherine, 38, filed papers last year to gain control of his estate after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

But a judge has put her step-mother Shera Falk in charge of Peter’s affairs, allowing Catherine a 30-minute visit with her dad every other month.

‘Essentially, this is a family matter,’ says a lawyer for Shera. ‘It’s important that families can figure out how to get along. It’s a good outcome for everybody.’
