Why, Peter Kay, WHY?

Fans of Peter Kay’s Car Share were left utterly frustrated with the way the latest series ended on Tuesday night.

Since the show first hit our screens in 2015, viewers have watched the comedian’s character John grow ever closer to his car share colleague Kayleigh – willing them to get it on!

The final episode of the second series saw Kayleigh finally confess her love for John, telling him ‘it kills me you don’t feel the same’ before storming out of his car. Blub!

And whilst John fantasised about chasing after her and landing a big smacker on her lips, instead viewers were left devastated when he actually just sat in his car and did nothing.

It was an abrupt end to one of our favourite on-screen relationships since Scott and Charlene in Neighbours – and now fans have been dealt another blow, as Peter revealed there will be NO more series, meaning we’ll never find out if the pair end up together. Noooo!

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, the northern funnyman said: ‘There’s not going to be a series three so it won’t ever happen. No Christmas special. You’ve got to get out while the going’s good.

‘There’s only so much you can do in a car and the last thing you want to do is ruin it because I think it’s a lovely thing.’

Speaking about co-star Sian Gibson, Peter added: ‘It’s been wonderful working with Sian, who’s one of my closest friends in the world.

‘We have a good laugh but I think sometimes you’ve got to just leave things.

‘You need good ideas – that’s the problem. You need good strong stories.

‘A lot of series tend to go on for one series too many, especially with comedies, and I think people say ‘ooh, it’s gone off, that’.

‘If you’re struggling and you just get a sense when you’re writing that you might be running out of ideas, that’s when I think you should walk away.’

Hearts. BROKEN.
