Kate's sister releases first book Celebrate in October

Pippa Middleton has revealed that she hopes her debut book will provide some happy memories for readers.

Penguin Books are publishing Pippa‘s Celebrate, a ‘comprehensive guide to home entertaining’, which offers her own tips and ideas for planning a celebration.

It’s the first book by Kate Middleton’s little sister, who has spent many years working for her family’s business Party Pieces and London events company Table Talk, and she hopes that it will have a lasting effect on the reader.

Pippa, 28, says: ‘I hope you will see this as a feel-good book with ideas to look forward to each month, providing threads of lasting, happy memories, be it around a table lit with candles in winter, outside on a rug in summer or in the autumn, perched on a leaf-covered bench, hot drink in hand.’

The book’s cover features a patchwork design, including several shots of Pippa looking relaxed and happy as she helps out with party preparations.

But the author admits that planning a celebration can be difficult.

‘Entertaining on any scale can be stressful and daunting,’ says Pippa.

‘So this is all about finding ways to manage and enjoy the process.

‘It is a useful and practical journey into British-themed occasions and I hope it offers welcome inspiration and ideas, most of which needn’t leave you alarmingly out of pocket.’

Celebrate: A Year Of British Festivities For Families And Friends by Pippa Middleton is published by Penguin Books’ Michael Joseph imprint on 25 October, £25, and is already proving popular on pre-order.
