Eleanor Tomlinson admits that it's hard for her boyfriend to watch her with sexy Poldark heartthrob Aidan Turner
Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson is the envy of women all over the country right now – HOW lucky is she for getting so up close and personal with sexy leading man Aidan Turner?!
But as if that wasn’t enough, Eleanor – who plays Poldark‘s wife Demelza in the drama series – has made us even more jealous due to the fact that she’s got some SERIOUS chemistry with Aidan. We can barely take our eyes off the couple when they share the screen together and even Eleanor herself admits that she’s aware of the spark between them.
The 22-year-old actress instantly had a rapport with Aidan, 31, when they had a ‘chemistry test’ during the auditions phase.
‘It was obvious from the beginning that Aidan and I could work well together,’ Eleanor confesses.
‘I think, at that chemistry test, there was definitely a sense in the room where you knew that the people watching us liked what they were seeing. Yes. There was a definite energy.’
Ooh-er! The fizzle between Eleanor and Aidan is so intense that they don’t even need to strip off to get some sexual tension, with is handy because Eleanor isn’t big on being in the buff on screen.
‘I don’t do nudity, I don’t feel the need to do it,’ she explains.
‘In fact it’s sexier if you don’t do nudity. Especially nowadays when it’s become all that sells a series.
‘Poldark has proven that you don’t need nudity to convey a sexual relationship. It can be something as simple as the hair on the back of my neck moving as he’s kissing me. It’s the tiny things that get you hot under the collar.’
Er, we’ll say! After spending so much time with gorgeous Aidan, we’re not surprised that Eleanor admits it’s probably tough for her boyfriend. The red-haired star’s mystery man works in the industry but isn’t an actor, whilst Aidan has been dating actress Sarah Greene for three years.
‘I think it’s hard. And it’s hard for anyone who dates an actor,’ Eleanor tells The Times.
‘It’s something that comes with the territory, and I don’t envy anyone who dates an actor. And what’s even worse here is the chemistry that the characters have. That love story is so much harder to watch than any single love scene.
‘But it’s not a question of me having to “explain” to him [my boyfriend] that it’s only chemistry. He’s immensely supportive and we trust each other, and I’m honest about everything.
‘There are no nasty surprises for him. He doesn’t watch the show and go: “What? You didn’t tell me about that!”‘
With the actress having already signed up for three more series of Poldark, it looks like Demelza and Poldark‘s sizzling love story is set to run and run.
