This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield revealed news of the damage live on air - and we just might recognise the cheeky culprits...
It’s only just been given a shiny new makeover, but last night the This Morning studio was broken into and vandalised by a group of pranksters.
Stricken-faced hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield revealed the news live on air during this morning’s show, calling the incident ‘shocking’.
Thankfully, the break-in was captured on tape by ITV’s security cameras – and we think we might just recognise the cheeky culprits!
Speaking on air, Holly said: ‘We have some bad news for you today. The studio’s been broken into overnight, and our beloved new set has been vandalised.’
‘We were alerted to the incident by our CCTV cameras,’ Phillip continued, before Holly added: ‘You won’t believe what they picked up.’
At which point, they cut to a picture from the break-in and would you believe it? It’s only Keith Lemon holding a marker pen!
Further pictures revealed that talk show host Alan Carr as well as pop stars Will Young and Carly Rae Jepson completed the Celebrity Juice host’s merry band of vandals.
Holly explained how the group staged the break-in at 9pm the night before after filming an instalment of Alan Carr Chatty Man, and proceeded to not only vandalise the place but also enjoy drinks on the famous This Morning sofa. The cheek of it!
Clearly feeling bad, Alan later took to Twitter to apologise for the group’s actions – but also admitted that he’d had a lot of fun trashing Holly and Phil’s set!
A post on the Chatty Man Twitter account read: ‘Dear @itvthismorning @Schofe @hollywills We’re sorry about your studo. (Was fun though!) Love everyone @chattyman x’
The post was accompanied by further pictures showing the extend of the vandals’ work – including the (rather funny, we have to say) defacing of one of Holly’s pictures.
Uh-oh – this means war!
