Wills had to go back to work

Prince Harry and Kate Middleton watched the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics on Sunday night without Prince William because he had to go back to work.

RAF search-and-rescue pilot Wills, 30, returned to Wales, leaving younger brother Harry to represent the royals.

Kate Middleton stepped in to accompany Harry and sat beside him throughout the event at the Olympic Stadium in east London.

The spectacular show featured a journey through British music, with acts including One Direction, Take That and the Spice Girls performing.

Kate, 30, and the younger royals have been spotted at several events throughout the Games and have enjoyed being involved.

They will stay in the hearts and minds of people all over the world for a very long time to come,’ said Harry, 27, in a statement.

I congratulate all the athletes who have competed. They have shown us that there are few boundaries to human endeavour.’
