Duchess of Cambridge is resting at Kensington Palace as Prince William continues with royal duties

Kate Middleton was discharged from hospital on Thursday but the Duchess of Cambridge is still finding acute morning sickness hard to cope with.

Kate, 30, has cancelled all her royal engagements before Christmas and has been advised by doctors at London’s King Edward VII hospital to rest and stay hydrated to combat ‘hyperemesis gravidarum’.

‘I don’t know why they call it morning sickness – they should call it all day and all night sickness,’ Prince William joked as he spoke at the Winter Whites Gala in London’s Earls Court for homeless charity Centrepoint.

‘It’s a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever.’
