Former chart singer offered huge fees by I'm A Celebrity and Big Brother

Celebrity Big Brother have apparently nicked 80s rock star Adam Ant from telly rival I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The former chart singer was offered huge fees to appear by both shows, but the 51-year old – real name Stuart Goddard – has opted for the house in Elstree over the Aussie outback.

‘It’s a mighty blow for I’m A Celebrity because they really wanted him,’ a source told the Daily Star.

‘Everyone joked that they would have ended up with two Ants in the jungle and one Dec. But Celebrity Big Brother chiefs are beside themselves with joy that he is going to be on their show.’

The veteran rocker – who has suffered from manic depression since 2002 and had a breakdown in 1994 – hopes to spark a comeback by staying in the CBB house.

He recently penned his autobiography, Stand And Deliver.
