But according to reports, Robbie Williams is primed to take his spot on the judging panel after being locked in secret negotiations for weeks!
The Angels hitmaker, who has been a guest judge on the show numerous times over the years, is finally ready to take on the challenge after being pursued by X Factor boss Simon Cowell for a decade.
‘Robbie has always been Simon’s dream signing,’ a show insider told The Sun.
‘Now it appears he’s finally going to get his man.
‘Over the past 12 months they’ve become close, as have their wives who are also pals.
‘There’s a deal on the table and Robbie is keen to do it. The hope is that the deal is days away from being signed and announced.’
The news of Robbie’s potential signing comes just days after Louis announced that he is quitting the show after 13 years as a judge.
The Irishman announced the news on Thursday and admitted that he’s ‘ready’ to bow out from the role.
‘I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave,’ Louis, 65, said in a statement.
‘I’m looking forward to another series of Ireland’s Got Talent, going back to my day job as a manager, writing my memoirs and seeing the world!
So who WILL be on this year’s panel? Well it’s been revealed that three new faces will join, though Sharon Osbourne is set to return for the live shows but will skip the auditions stage.
‘I can’t wait to get back to the judges’ desk,’ Sharon, 65, said of the news. ‘I love the new format.’
With Robbie as the number one contender for a role, and with it looking highly likely that Nicole Scherzinger has been axed, two other judging spots still need to be filled.
Stars linked to joining the show include Ricky Martin, Mel B, Rita Ora, Louis Tomlinson, Kylie Minogue and Craig David.
We can’t wait to see who will be chosen!
