Actor says he hasn't been approached about Time Lord role


Robert Carlyle has rubbished reports he’s to be the next Doctor Who.

Current Time Lord David Tennant, 36, is rumoured to be leaving the BBC show in 2009.

And The Full Monty star’s name has been bandied about as a replacement.

But Robert, 46, firmly denies it. ‘Nobody has been in touch with me about Doctor Who,’ he tells the Radio Times.

The new series of Doctor Who returns in the spring.
