Strictly's Anton Du Beke slams dance partner Judy Murray after being voted off live show

Anton Du Beke claimed Judy Murray was ‘wonderful’ when they were first voted off Strictly Come Dancing over a week ago – but it seems his well wishes lasted about as long as Craig Revel Horwood‘s nicest ever compliment (i.e. not very).

At the Nordoff Robbins chariry boxing match at London’s Hilton hotel on Monday, Anton, 48, took to the stage to make a speech as master of ceremonies.

A source at the event said, ‘Anton addressed the whole room and said about Judy, “She was s**t. Why couldn’t they have given me Pixie Lott?”‘

Ouch, Anton!

The 48-year-old dancer has certainly changed his tune from last week’s Blackpool show, which saw the couple leave the competition after a dance-off with Casualty star Sunetra Sarker.

He said to Judy: ‘You are wonderful. I want you to keep going with dancing wherever you are… She’s such a great person. The fun that we had has been purely because of her humour. She’s been such a sport… I have had the best time ever.’

Judy, 55, equally smitten with her dance partner, said: ‘We got lucky. Anton has been lovely, he’s made my Strictly experience very special.’

Although the source witness to Anton‘s speech said ‘he may have been simply joking and he did have the crowd in stitches’, his preferred partner Pixie Lott, 23, is currently topping the Strictly leader board and is a hot favourite to win. Is it any surprise Anton wishes he was partnered with her?

And he isn’t the only Strictly man unhappy with his partner. Steve Backshall has admitted he would rather not have been put with partner Ola Jordan: ‘You don’t get a choice. I probably would have chosen Anton because he was the only person I knew.’

The 41-year-old wildlife expert has previously hit the news after reportedly complaining that Ola had been ‘rude and impatient’ with him during rehearsal.

‘You go through so much together as a couple and I know it’s only dancing and only an entertainment show, but you genuinely put in so much work and so many hours,’ he explained to the Daily Mirror.

‘You don’t want people thinking that it was absolute hell – that would be awful.

‘My first impression was just to kind of rise above it and not say anything but actually, eventually, you just want to say, “listen, it’s all cool”.’

Hmm, we wonder which star will be next to wish for a partner swap?
