In another incredibly sad turn of events, it has been confirmed that legendary Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has sadly passed away aged 60 after suffering a fatal heart attack.
Yesterday, Carrie’s publicists had shared the saddening news in a statement after receiving confirmation from Carrie’s daughter. The report states: ‘It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning’.
Billie’s statement then adds, ‘She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers’.
According to reports, Carrie had suffered a cardiac arrest during a transatlantic flight on the 23rd of December: ‘Paramedics removed her from the flight and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for a heart attack. She later died in the hospital’.
Carrie’s tributes have been lead by many famous faces, including actor Mark Hamill who had starred alongside Carrie as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Mark simply writes, ‘no words #Devastated’.

Stephen Fry has also taken to social media to share some moving words for the legendary actress, writing ‘She was the brightest, funniest, bravest, kindest, cleverest and sweetest person I ever knew. A crushing blow to lose @carrieffisher’.
