The Girls Aloud star hits 'rock bottom'

Sarah Harding has checked herself into rehab.

The Girls Aloud star hit an all time low after splitting from DJ fiancé Tom Crane last month.

‘She’s been through a traumatic time in her personal life and had to
honour her work commitments on top. She needs some time out to clear her
head,’ says an insider.

‘Splitting from Tom has played a huge part in her decision
to seek help. She just needs to get herself back on track emotionally.
She had hit rock bottom.’

Sarah, 29, and Tom, 31, called off their £750,000 wedding – due to take place next summer – after rows, a clash of lifestyles and accusations from Tom’s friends that her paranoia and mood swings drove him away.

Insiders say Sarah ‘hit the bottle’ in a bid to deal with her loss and heartache, and had been spending less time then ever with band mates Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.

‘It all just got the better of her. She had been with Tom for a long time. All her plans for the future suddenly came crashing down,’ the source tells The Sun.

‘Some of her closest friends had suggested she seek help over the last few months, but she refused.

‘She was burying her head in the sand, but now she is getting support.’

A Girls Aloud spokesman confirmed last night: ‘Sarah Harding has entered a treatment centre for depression and alcohol addiction.’

It is believed that Sarah is in a clinic abroad.
