Singer struggled with being back on stage
The band, who recently announced their split, reunited after three years apart for their final tour and a struggling Sarah turned to Cheryl, 29, for support.
I didn’t really want to speak much [on stage],’ says Sarah, 31.
I asked Cheryl if I could shadow her. She did most of the talking for the first few concerts until I started feeling more confident.
I was so incredibly nervous. It was exciting, but it was tiring too.’
Sarah, who went to rehab in 2011 to battle addictions to alcohol and sleeping pills, admits she puts on an act when performing.
I’m like Beyoncé Knowles in that I have an alter ego on stage,’ she says.
On Twitter I’m called Mama Harding and on stage I’m Hardcore Harding. I can be loud and extrovert when I’m on stage, but my fans know it’s my persona.’
