Scarlett Moffatt: stopping trolls in their tracks one by one
Most people can be agreed that bodyshaming is just not cool – we mean, why waste energy hating on someone’s appearance and knocking them down, when you can just be a ray of sunshine and positivity instead?
It seems as if semi-professional troll Katie Hopkins hasn’t quite caught onto this memo, as on Thursday, she made a cruel, unneccesary jibe at TV personality Scarlett Moffatt.
Attaching a picture of the Gogglebox star, Katie made fun of Scarlett by reworking nursery rhyme ‘Little Miss Muffet’:
‘Little Miss Moffatt sat on her tuffet, eating her curds and way more than she should @ScarlettMoffatt’
Why Katie would choose to pick on Scarlett’s appearance – and go to the effort of tagging Scarlett herself in the tweet – is as of yet unknown. However, Scarlett’s not one to keep quiet when something’s brought to her attention, and she’s responded in true style.
Scarlett posted an extract of her bestselling book, Scarlett Says, in which she gave her opinion on Katie – and it seems as if Hopkins is months too late with her unimaginative tweet, as Scarlett predicted her words when writing the book:
‘I can’t be the only one that’s bored by her. The thing is, she reads all of her press, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she finds out about this and slags me off. I wonder what she’ll say. Probably something about my appearance cos she likes doing that, or maybe she’ll imply that I’m thick. I’ll get in first. Yes I know I look like an oompa loompa. I’m genuinely excited now to see what happens.’
And THAT, folks, is how to shut up a troll for good. Well played, Scarlett!
