Actress to feature in 3 episodes of new series

Billie Piper is set to return to Doctor Who.

The actress, 25, will reprise her role as assistant Rose Tyler for 3 episodes at the end of the new series.

Billie left the show at the end of season 2, but confesses she’s missed being part of the sci-fi show.

‘Doctor Who is a big part of my life,’ she explains. ‘I’ve missed it since I left and I love David Tennant.’

Billie was persuaded to return by her family. ‘My mum is the biggest Doctor Who fan ever,’ she tells the Daily Mirror. ‘I feel bad about not being in this year’s Christmas special with Kylie Minogue.’

Time Lord David Tennant, 36, will start the series with comedian Catherine Tate, 39, as his new sidekick, but will later be joined by former assistants Freema Agyeman and Billie.

‘With Donna, Martha and Rose competing to assist him, Dr Who is going to be spoilt for choice,’ says a show insider.
