Stuntman breaks Guinness World Record
David Blaine has set a new Guinness World Record by holding his breath for a staggering 17 minutes and 4 seconds.
The stuntman, 35, was suspended in a water-filled sphere on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday in a bid to beat the previous record of 16 minutes and 32 seconds.
After an agonising wait in which Davids heart beat slowed dramatically he exceeded his goal and was pulled from the tank.
Theres no enhancement, no cheating, he said afterwards. I actually started to doubt I was going to make it because Id never done it with such a high heart rate.
Davids previous stunts include spending 44 days in a glass box over the Thames in London.
