Celebrity Big Brother star confirms brother's death

A team of doctors desperately tried to revive Michael Jackson following his suspected cardiac arrest, says his brother Jermaine.

The Celebrity Big Brother star, acting as the family’s spokesman, confirmed the singer’s death at a press conference in LA last night.

‘My brother, the legendary King Of Pop Michael Jackson, died on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 2.26pm,’ he said. ‘It is believed that he suffered cardiac arrest in his home.

‘The cause of his death is unknown until the results of the autopsy. His personal physician who was with him at the time attempted to resuscitate my brother, as did the paramedics who transported him to UCLA Medical Centre.’

‘A team of doctors, including emergency physicians and cardiologists attempted to resuscitate him for a period of more than one hour. They were unsuccessful.’

Jermaine, 54, looked close to tears throughout the announcement.

‘May our love be with you always Michael,’ he added.

Michael, 50, is survived by children Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.
