X Factor judge is removing the surgical device that helped her get thin

Sharon Osbourne is planning to remove the gastric band that helped her lose nearly 9st in weight.

Instead the mum-of-three, wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, will rely on psychotherapy to cope with her weight issues.

‘I have to figure out why I do what I do to myself,’ says Sharon, 54, in an interview with People magazine. ‘I think I have some sort of self-destruction button.’

Sharon admits she has a history of overeating and, despite having had the band in place since 1999, has gained a stone in the last year.

She says: ‘I keep trying to eat more and more, I’m a pig. If you eat too much, you throw up, then you eat more.’
