Benedict admires stars like Keira Knightley for their focus
Benedict Cumberbatch has admitted that he hasn’t always had a steely focus like on-screen alter ego Sherlock Holmes.
The actor was educated at prestigious boarding school Harrow but he says that his academic record started to slip when he was in his late teens.
‘I did sort of blow my GCSEs out of the water,’ Benedict, 36, tells Metro.
‘I couldn’t believe it and neither could my parents. And then there was a lot of pressure on me to achieve an Oxbridge level of brilliance at A-levels.
‘But then adolescence came late and I discovered girls, pot and all sorts of other things, so I got a bit lazy.
‘That stagnated my growth a bit as far as being academic.’
