The 38-year-old fell ill last Friday after switching on the Bond Street Christmas lights.

Lisa, who had a splitting headache and ached all over, also complained of feeling faint.

‘She just fell apart and she went to the doctor and was immediately checked into hospital,’ a friend tells the Daily Mail.

‘They then diagnosed her with viral meningitis.’

Viral meningitis is less serious than bacterial meningitis and brings on flu-like symptoms

Lisa, 38, who once dated George Clooney and models for M&S, has been absent from the 95.8 Capital Radio early morning show which she co-hosts with Johnny Vaughan.

Lisa‘s unlikely to be returning to the breakfast show next week as well,’ says her pal.

‘She is now on the mend, but she’s still in hospital.

‘The doctors have warned her this takes a long while to recover from.’

The Saturdays’ Frankie Sandford stood in for Lisa yesterday and today.
