Britain's Got Talent judge will raise son in two countries

Simon Cowell is keen for his son Eric to talk like a Brit.

The music mogul became a dad on Valentine’s day when American girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth in New York but he doesn’t want his offspring to develop a US twang.

I definitely would like my child to speak with a British accent,’ says Simon, 54.

Maybe [it’s important to me] because I’m British!

I haven’t really thought about it but it’d be quite odd, me being a Brit, and having a child that spoke with an American accent.’

Simon intends to raise Eric in both the UK and the States and thinks his well-travelled son could be a bit mischievous when he grows up.

I’ve got a feeling he’s going to be really bad for some reason,’ the TV judge admits.

The Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals are currently showing on ITV – the final airs on Saturday 7 June.
