Stacey has eight-year-old son Zachary and Leighton, four
Ever since they revealed that they were in a relationship, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have appeared to be one of the nicest and most stable couples in showbiz.
So much so, that many fans are hoping to hear news of them getting engaged or building on their family by having their first child together! However, Stacey has revealed that there’s some hesitance towards having more on her part, as she is worried about the potential emotional impact it could have on her sons – who have different fathers.
The bubbly Loose Women panellist is no stranger to opening up about matters close to her heart in front of an audience, and she did exactly that in a new online chat. Despite her desire to give sons Zachary, eight, and four-year-old Leighton more siblings, the fact that she has two children by two different men gives her a sense of ‘guilt’.
‘I always have an overwhelming sense of guilt that if I were to make my family greater, that I would impact on them socially and emotionally,’ she admitted in a frank video blog with Huffington Post on Monday (13th February).
‘I read loads of studies that say broken families end up having children with worse cognitive behavioural skills, and less likely to learn, more likely to have emotional difficulties going through life.
‘There’s definitely been times in my life where I’ve felt the stigma of having multiple children with different fathers.’
The former X Factor contestant had first son Zachary at 19 years old with her teenage love Dean Cox, and Leighton with ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham.
Stacey, 27, has spoken out about the unfortunate and outdated stigma of having a non-traditional family in the past – and previously ruled out having children with father-of-one Joe, 35, because of it – but it seems she could be warming more to the idea.
Here’s hoping that they end up moving forward with their family in the way that’s right for them!
