Designer plans to turn backpackers' haunt into a plush home

Stella McCartney is turning a grotty 37-room hotel into a new £8.5 million home.

The pregnant designer has paid over £4 million for the backpackers’ lodge in Notting Hill, West London, reports The Sun. She plans to transform it into a luxurious family pad.

Stella, 35, who is expecting her second child any day, will install a nursery and giant kids’ bathroom for the new baby and son Miller, 20 months.

She also wants a gym, media centre and dressing rooms for her and her husband Alasdhair Willis, 35.
