As the ratings war rages on, the stars of Strictly and X Factor have also been battling it out in the style stakes

It’s that time of year again when two colossal Saturday night TV shows engage in a battle for viewers’ hearts – welcome back, Strictly vs X Factor war! Oh how we missed you over the summer.

The battle doesn’t just take place via the ratings figures though (which, fyi, Strictly is winning right now). Last night stars from each show fought it out in the style stakes on the red carpet at the Pride Of Britain Awards 2015 – but who came out on top?

Click through our pictures above to see the best and worst looks of the Strictly and X Factor crew at the glitzy event held in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Firstly let’s examine the X Factor gang, who were out in force for the ceremony and made some pretty impressive fashion choices.

Cheryl looked as chic as ever in a velvet-look navy blue gown and also brought stylish accessories in the form of her best friends Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts – looking good, Chimola!

Caroline Flack and Nick Grimshaw both opted for classic black ensembles (though check out Cazza’s purple hair – we like!) whilst Xtra Factor host Rochelle Humes looked particularly stunning in a fairy tale sweeping frock.

Alumni Fleur East and Little Mix were working it too but Simon Cowell let the side down a bit. C’mon Si, couldn’t you have swapped your usual v-neck white shirt for something a little bit different?

Over to the Strictly crew! There were certainly some dazzling couples on the red carpet, from Peter Andre and gorgeous wife Emily MacDonagh to professional dancers Aljaž Skorjanec and Janette Manrara.

We love Anita Rani‘s sparkling vintage dress – and dancing companion Giovanni Pernice doesn’t scrub up too badly either! *swoons*

Meanwhile Georgia May Foote wowed in a white crop top and long black skirt combo and Natalie Lowe worked an elegant gold-embellished gown (plus she did a bit of dancing with Ainsley Harriott on the red carpet – brownie points for that).

Sadly alumni Pixie Lott – who was on Strictly last year – let the side down a little in an unflattering satin number.

So who wins this style showdown? We think the X Factor gang nailed monochrome chic, but when it comes to colour Strictly wins all the way – let’s be diplomatic and call it a draw!
