Susan recently opened up about her emotional journey since older sister Bridie McCaw passed away last October.

‘Whilst there were many happy moments in 2015, the lowest was losing my sister Bridie so unexpectedly and this really hit all of our family hard, especially her daughter and my niece, Joanne,’ she began.

‘Bridie was an amazing sister and a real rock. She was honest and helped me throughout my life and during my career. She wasn’t afraid to tell me I was getting too big for my boots.’

Susan got her big break after winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables

Bridie, named after their late mother Bridget, and Susan were close, and she is said to be one of Susan’s biggest supporters – even from a very young age. Bridie encouraged Susan to pursue music after she swayed in time to music as a baby!

Susan went on to say: ‘I miss her every day and we as a family have needed this quiet time to grieve in peace.’

After taking some time out, Susan is ready to get back to her music, and is currently working on her seventh album.

Glad to see she’s getting back on her feet – all at Now send our condolences to Susan and the family.
