Jake Wood from EastEnders what spotted giving Dan Osborne advice alongside his pregnant screen daughter

They were the most loved-up couple of the night, and as Dan Osborne tenderly put his arm around Jacqueline Jossa and cradled her baby bump, they let the entire world know they were back on track.

Well, almost the entire planet.

For backstage at the aftershow party at the star-studded National Television Awards we spied Jake Wood, who plays EastEndersMax Branning, looking like he was giving Dan ‘the chat’, ahead of the impending birth of his screen daughter Jacqueline Jossa‘s baby.

And not even the mighty Dan from TOWIE would be able to swerve that one…

A source said: ‘Max was with them by the bar for ages making sure Dan was looking after her. He was acting like a concerned dad, seeing how they were doing getting ready for the new baby. They were chatting for ages, it was really good to see as they are like family in real life, not just on screen.’

No wonder the Strictly star was checking in on the young couple. They’ve been rocked by split rumours throughout their relationship but Jacqueline and Dan silenced the critics with an affectionate display on Wednesday night.

Heavily pregnant Jacqueline showed off her bump in a pale sparkling gown and Dan was handsome in a dark suit.

Jacqueline and Dan sparked break up rumours in November 2014 when he Tweeted a cryptic message to fans that read: ‘Relationships just do not seem to work…’

Though they have said that there was never a split, Dan claims he can’t remember why he wrote that, and that now things are back on track.

He said: ‘It’s been difficult but we’ve come out the other side and it just shows that nothing can really break us.’

BBC viewers will soon be saying farewell to her role of Lauren Branning on EastEnders for a while as she goes on maternity leave.

One thing’s for sure, her ‘daddy Max’ will certainly miss her.
