Poor Claire King has been forced to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house after 14 days

Poor Claire King has been forced to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house after coming down with suspected colitis.

The former Emmerdale star left the house on Sunday and was taken to hospital.

Yesterday she tweeted her fans, admitting she was ‘gutted’ not to be returning to the TV show.

Replying to tweets from friends and fans asking if she was OK, Claire replied: ‘Bad? Positively evil!! Colitis and still testing grrr wouldn’t let me back in!

Claire, 51, later deleted the tweet.

Ulcerative colitis is inflamation of the colon, which can be extremely painful.

It is estimated that around 1 in every 420 people living in the UK has ulcerative colitis, which amounts to around 146,000 people.

It is not known what causes it but it can be genetic or brought on by ‘environemental issues’.

Channel 5 confirmed in a statement that Claire would not be returning to the reality show, writing on their website: ‘On Sunday, Claire had to leave for medical reasons. Unfortunately, Claire will not be returning to the house.

‘Her housemates have been informed of this news. Everyone here at Big Brother wishes Claire all the best, and hopes she gets well soon.’

TOWIE star Sam Faiers had to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house in the last series in January, after being rushed to hospital with stomach pains.

Her weight plummeted from 9st to just 7st 7lb while she in the house and she was later diagnosed with the inflamatory bowel condition Crohn’s disease.

Shortly after her diagnosis she exclusively told us: ‘People made comments about me being boring on CBB, which was upsetting – but I had awful cramps, terrible diarrhoea and
I could barely eat or drink.

‘Sometimes I’d literally fall on the floor I was so weak.
I didn’t know what
was wrong with me.

‘Everyone was more concerned about whether I was going to go out with Ollie Locke but I couldn’t think about a relationship because all my energy was going on keeping myself together.’

We hope you get well soon, Claire King.
