Oh it's awkward...
We might be nearing the final of TV talent competition, The Voice but it looks like there’s just about time for one more controversy as last year’s winner has taken to social media to blast the show.
You might remember Kevin Simm for his spectacular win last year following a load of spine-tingling performances and a particularly incredible cover of Sia’s Chandelier (which has now been viewed more than 7million times on YouTube FYI).
But despite proving very popular with both the judges and the British public, the former Liberty X singer has now gone IN on the ITV show ahead of this weeks final.
And he certainly didn’t hold back…
When a fan questioned Kevin whether he’ll be returning to the stage this weekend for a special performance, he quipped back: ‘No, unfortunately I missed the season where they go on to support you afterwards.’
And fans were quick to pick up on the social media shade and rushed to support the star, with one follower writing: ‘Wtf???? You should be invited back on there! Hope you’re well lovely’, and another adding: ‘Hardly surprising, look at The Voice’s track record. They discard people liked used tissues.’
The popular show has now moved across to ITV, but when it was under the BBC’s rule last year, the prize for coming out on top was a winner’s single released straight after the final.
Unfortunately Kev’s efforts on the track ‘All You Good Friends’ weren’t that well received and he only entered the UK charts at Number 24.
But hoping to take the charts by storm this year are Jennifer Hudson‘s acts, Jamie Miller and Mo Adeniran, Tom Jones‘ group, Into the Ark and will.i.am‘s singer, Michelle Johndo.
And although we’re pretty gutted that Kevin won’t be making a return, with John Legend performing his new single plus Pixie Lott making a surprise comeback with her new song, Baby it’s sure to be an epic finale.
