Adele tribute act idolises singer

The Voice contestant Lareena Mitchell says cruel Twitter taunts won’t stop her from achieving the success of her idol Adele.

Lareena, who works as an Adele tribute act, impressed Tom Jones on Saturday night’s show but has since received nasty comments online about her impersonations of the Someone Like You singer.

Oh, that’s water off a duck’s back,’ says Lareena, 32.

I don’t think you should let things like that get you down. I’ve also had loads of support.

Since the show went out my Twitter and Facebook have gone mad – it’s really overwhelming.’

Lareena hopes to replicate the success of Adele, 24, and show what she can do during her time on the talent show.

She’s definitely my idol,’ the mum-of-two tells The Sun.

But obviously I have my own voice and style too – that’s what I’m excited about showing off now.

I’d been rejected so many times before that when it came to the day before my Voice audition, I wasn’t going to go through with it – I thought I’d be wasting my time.

But my husband Steven talked me round and I decided this would be it – this was my last chance.’
