The viewers' Twitter vote sees Simon Cowell mentoring the Overs, the same category he won with last year, but Rita Ora has yet to react on social media about her being chosen to mentor the Girls

For the first time, viewers of The X Factor have been able to decide which category the judges are mentoring, and it seems they like what Simon Cowell does with the Overs.

The X Factor boss was revealed to be mentoring the Over 25s, with Rita Ora heading up the Girls category, Nick Grimshaw with the Boys and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini with the groups.

Rita Ora has so far stayed silent on her given category, but Nick, Simon and Cheryl have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions.

‘Wasn’t the category I was expecting,’ tweeted Simon, before reminding us all that the he actually won last year with the Overs – Ben Haenow, last year’s winner, fell into that category – so really, he can’t complain.

Cheryl, meanwhile, seemed elated to have the Groups, tweeting that she was ‘so excited’ followed by a whole five grinning emojis. Now THAT’s excitement.

Nick seemed happy to have got the Boys, too, saying that there’s some ‘stars’ in the category.

So that just leaves Rita – what does she think of her X Factor Girls? So far, there’s been no reaction from her on social media. She’s been busily promoting her new single Body On Me and Instagramming her MTV VMAs outfit, but conspicuously absent from her feeds is any mention of the X Factor.

We hope she’s happier with her category than Simon seems to be!
