We love The X Files' Mulder and Scully but what about all these other awesome 90s TV characters we miss?
The truth is out there: Mulder and Scully, aka David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, could be set to make a TV comeback. US TV network Fox has confirmed it is in talks to revive its popular 90s sci-fi series The X Files.
David‘s said he’s ‘more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with Gillian and [writer] Chris [Carter]’ adding, ‘I’m assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now. We’ll see what form, how many [episodes].
‘Certainly I can’t nor would I be interested in doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form. We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season.’
Here are another 10 brilliant shows we’d like to see back on the small screen. Pretty PLEASE?
We were getting our red bathing suits at the
ready when it was revealed that Baywatch was getting set for the big
screen last year. And we’d really like THE most watched TV programme of
all time with over 1.1 billion worldwide viewers to be on TV too. David
Hasselhoff who played Mitch Buchannon and Pamela Anderson, aka CJ Parker, would have to be part of the deal we reckon. We can’t imagine the show -
which started way back in 1991 – without these two!
The soundtrack to this super funny
and touching series had us hooked when it launched in 1997. We loved
Calista Flockhart and Lucy Liu, and crooning along to Al Green of course.
Sex And The City
Yes, we’ve got the boxset and both the
films of this groundbreaking series, which first
hit our screens in 1998 with Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw. But it isn’t enough. We’d like a comeback TV
special, or at least SATC 3 please. Thank you kindly.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
This was a story all about how his life
got turned upside down, we’d like to take a minute to sit right there and
say: ‘Make a comeback Will Smith!’ …because you were so, so good as the
Fresh Prince! With his acting credentials we reckon son
Jaden Smith could be the new prince and Will could be head of the family. That’s enough of a new twist for at least one more series of the
hit show, that began in 1990 we reckon.
Freaks & Geeks
This crazily good one-off pilot series debuted in 1999 and if you haven’t seen it,
check it out on Netflix NOW. Created by comedy genius Judd Apatow – of
Anchorman, Girls, Superbad and Knocked Up fame – and
starring Jason Segel, James Franco and Seth Rogen before
they were properly famous, our lives would be complete if it ever returned.
No one made us
dance like no one’s watching more than Blossom when she first hit our TV
screens in 1990. We can totally picture her running a vintage clothing store these days. And Six and Joey would be
together, are you taking note scriptwriters? Fun fact: actress Mayim Bialik is now acting in Big Bang Theory.
Saved By The
Zack! (aka Mark-Paul Harry Gosselaar) Ahhh! Enough said? We think so… Though we’d
also like to see the show’s other stars Slater and Kelly. High school
with this lot meant romance, drama and friendship. What more could you ask
Saturday mornings for?
Back in 1994 a handsome doctor by the name of George Clooney was
the star of a new medical drama. He played Dr. Doug Ross… and it was
love at first sight. Let’s not forget Carol Hathaway played by Julianna Margulies (now The Good Wife) and the lovely, lovely Carter (Noah Wyle)
these guys were enough to get the heart racing even without the jaw-dropping
storylines and actual patient trauma. Give us a one off comeback guys,
Yeah, we know it’s been shown, like, non-stop for the past 20 years, but still, it’s not enough! We want the show that began in 1994 to come back – at least a couple of one off specials! Surely that’s not too much to ask. Time for Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer to pull their finger out. Right?
Sure, it’s a kids’ cartoon but we would love to see
Angelica and her cousin Tommy back again – They first hit our screens in 1991
and they always did make us LOL.
