This is pretty impressive stuff!

Jennifer Hudson is one talented lady – she can sing, act and has even got an Oscar under her belt for doing both so amazingly well in 2006 flick Dreamgirls.

They aren’t the only thing that’s landed the American star in the headlines though; she’s also attracted attention thanks to her incredible body transformation.


As our gallery shows, J-Hud’s weight loss story – which has seen her drop a whopping 80lbs – is pretty impressive stuff!

Jennifer’s battles with her bod start in her teen years, in which she fills out to a size 16 and at 19 reaches her peak weight.

By the time she finds fame as a contestant on American Idol in 2004 and sadly discovers that her shape is seen as an obstacle to some in the business.

‘Early on, I remember one of the musical directors telling me that everything about me was too big,’ she’s since confessed. ‘My voice, my size, and my personality.’

After yo-yoing dieting throughout her 20s, Jennifer decides to change her lifestyle when she welcomes her first child, David Jr, with partner David Otunga in 2009.

‘David deserved to have a mama who could run after him without getting winded or getting tired, to have a role model who could teach him to make healthy food choices,’ she explains.

The award-winning star turns to Weight Watchers – as well as starting to exercise – and sees her figure dramatically change.

By 2012 she’s a size 6 and details her incredible body journey in her book I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down, though vows not to go too far.

‘I don’t even want muscular arms,’ she tells Good Housekeeping in 2012. ‘I like a natural look.’

Over the years Jennifer manages to keep her slim physique and is looking fabulous when she joins The Voice UK as a judge in 2017.

And despite her numerous achievements over the years, the music star is particularly proud of her body transformation.

‘I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar,’ she says. Go, J-Hud!
