Cheryl Cole lonely and sad but still hot in her new music video

Cheryl Cole‘s video for her new single The Flood sees her writhing around in bed – in full make-up, of course.

Distressed and sleepless, she still looks fantastic with big doleful eyes.

The X Factor judge, 28, sings about ‘tears that fill an ocean’ in bleak footage dominated by a grey and stormy sea.

Filmed on England‘s south coast, the video is very different from the promo for Cheryl‘s No 1 single, Promise This, which showed her in stilettos and a ballet dancing tutu.

The ballad’s lyrics suggest a lost love and we see Cheryl, recently divorced from footballer Ashley Cole, looking very lonely and battered by the wind.

The Flood is due for release on 3 January.
