Lea dedicates her prize to Cory

paid tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith at the Teen Choice Awards last night.

The Glee actress, wearing her gold ‘Cory‘ name necklace, made her first public appearance since her lover’s death to collect the Choice TV Actress, Comedy gong at the LA ceremony.

And she tearfully thanked fans for supporting her since Cory, 31, passed away from a drugs and alcohol overdose last month.

I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these very difficult past few weeks,’ Lea, 26, told the audience at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory, and for all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did. I promise that with your love, we’ll get through this together.

‘He was very special to me and to the world, and we were all lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart.

‘And whether you knew him personally or as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became part of all of our hearts – and that’s where he’ll stay forever.’

After heremotional acceptance speech, an image of Cory was shown on the screen behind Lea as her co-stars gave her a hug.

The Glee cast also paid tribute to the late actor when they collected their prize for Choice TV Show, Comedy.
