Tom Hardy shuts down a reporter questioning his sexuality during a press conference for new film Legend.

We could stare at his face for days. And when we say days, we probably mean years. Decades even.

So perhaps it’s a good job we’re distracted by mother natures masterpiece- because you definitely don’t want to be asking Tom Hardy about his sexuality…

During a press conference for 37-year-old Tom‘s current flick, Legend, a reporter asked  ‘Your character, Ronnie, is very open about his sexuality. But given interviews you’ve done in the past, your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous. Do you find it hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality?’.

How the reporter could function speech whilst in the presence of Tom Hardy remains a mystery. In fact, Mr Hardy himself seemed slightly perplexed by this concept, as he proceeded to reply ‘what on earth are you on about?’.

The reporter then continued ‘I was wondering if you find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality?’, to which Tom retorted ‘I don’t find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality… are you asking me about my sexuality?’ before cutting the questioning off with a gentle ‘thank-you’.

It is believed the reporter was referring to Tom’s 2008 interview with Attitude magazine, in which his answer to ‘have you ever had sexual relations with men?’ was ‘of course I have. I’m an actor for f*ck’s sake. I’m an artist. I’ve played with everything and everyone…but I’m not into men sexually’.

Tom is no longer, *ahem*, ‘playing’ field, however. The actor, who is already father to seven year old son Louis from a past partner, and his wife Charlotte Riley have very recently announced they are expecting their first child together.

Speaking of being a dad, Tom says ‘I take great pride in being a father and make sure I’m there for him and helping him as he makes his way in the world…I was very self-indulgent for a long time and I was only thinking about my own stupid stuff and myself. Having a child lifts you out of that selfish behaviour’.

So if we have learnt anything today it’s to never- under any circumstance- ask Tom Hardy if he wants to go to a gay bar….
