I'm a Celeb star Wayne Bridge made the controversial claim in the jungle last week
He found himself at the centre of a cheating scandal in 2011 when it was revealed that Wayne Bridge’s former partner Vanessa Perroncel had been unfaithful with his married Chelsea teammate John Terry. Vanessa insisted the affair had taken place after her split from Wayne, but he hit headlines when he refused to shake Terry’s hand before a match.
Then, last week, Wayne, 36, raised eyebrows during a discussion in camp about infidelity. When contestants were asked: ‘What percentage of men think sending a naked selfie is cheating?’ Wayne replied: ‘It’s not actually cheating, is it?’
Viewers were quick to hit back. One Twitter user wrote: ‘Here lies the problem guys,’ while another blasted: ‘Err Wayne, I think Frankie might have something to say about that!’
But what does wife Frankie think? Now revealed earlier this month that Frankie, 27 – who has two sons Parker, three, and Carter, 15 months, with Wayne – was plagued with fears and anxiety over her husband’s decision to take part in the show.
The Saturdays singer spoke openly about her struggles with depression and anxiety in 2011 after she went to rehab for a month.Speaking frankly back in 2014, she said: ‘I felt so worthless, that I was ugly, that I didn’t deserve anything.’
And the young mum has sparked concern that she’s struggling with Wayne so far away from her. Following Sunday night’s episode – in which Wayne made the comment – Frankie admitted she was struggling to sleep. ‘Couldn’t sleep. So watched all my @bbcstrictly dances back… they make me happy,’ she tweeted.
Frankie then sparked concern days later when she shared the Instagram post ‘5 Things To Quit’, which mentioned ‘fearing change’ and ‘overthinking’. The star wrote: ‘5 things to quit… right now people! … easier said than done. But worth a try! #quotes #try #imanoverthinker in fact #alloftheabove.’
Keep your chin up, Frankie!
