Duke of Cambridge was with Prince Harry in Cirencester yesterday
Kate Middleton and Prince William might have been expecting their baby to arrive on Saturday, but the new royal clearly had other ideas, leaving the Prince to find his own way of diffusing the tension.
While reporters gathered outside St Mary’s Hospital in London and some photographers reserved spaces, Wills, 31, was 94 miles away in Cirencester.
He joined brother Prince Harry, 28, for a game of polo in the Gloucestershire town to raise money for charity.
But insiders say there was no danger of him missing the birth.
‘It is understood that if he had received a call from Kate to say the baby was on its way, he would have received a police escort back to London, meaning he could make the 94 mile trip in just over an hour,’ a royal insider told The Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Kate is believed to have left the couple’s London home to spend time with her family in Berkshire before the birth.
